Every interaction with a patient is meaningful to me – whether I\u2019m applying liquid nitrogen to a small keratosis or diagnosing a more serious condition. Dr Karlien van Dyk

Dr Karlien van Dyk is a dedicated GP with a strong academic foundation and extensive experience across major hospitals in KwaZulu-Natal and Cape Town. With additional training in emergency and paediatric life support, as well as focused ultrasound, she has particular interests in acute care, paediatrics, chronic disease management, and primary obstetric care. What I value most about general practice is the continuity of care \u2014 the opportunity to follow patients over time, build strong therapeutic relationships, and support them through different stages of their lives. I\u2019m passionate about internal medicine and enjoy solving medical mysteries and finding root causes. With a strong interest in geriatrics, I like helping complex older patients simplify their medications and understand their diagnoses.
